Jobaer Alam, the chairman and Acting Editor of national English daily The Bangladesh Today, came under a targeted attack in front of his Panthapath residence in Dhaka early Monday.
A press conference was held in this regard in the office of the English daily in the capital’s Panthapath recently.
“I was attacked by some unidentified miscreants around 2:00am while I was returning to my Panthapath residence after concluding a family programme. The miscreants threw stones targeting a private car which I was driving. My wife was also inside the car. She was seriously injured as a chunk of stone broke the glass of the car and hit her. Later, she was rushed to central hospital nearby,” he told the press conference.
Terming the attack pre-planned, Jobaer drew attention of the authorities concerned for taking immediate steps.
Mentionable, the acting editor also came under the similar attack around three months back.
