Bangladesh will take part in the 40th International Kolkata Book Fair-2016 in India next month, a cultural affairs ministry statement said here today.
It said the decision for taking part in the January 27 to February 7, 2015 book fair was taken at a meeting with Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor in the chair. “The allocated space for Bangladesh pavilion in the fair was very little last year but more Bangladeshi stalls will be installed in the fair this year,” the statement quoted Noor as saying.
It said the minister expressed the hope that Bangladesh’s delightful participation in the international fair would further brighten the country’s image. Bangla Academy, Nazrul Institute, Jatiya Granthakendro, Islamic Foundation and Bangladesh Shishu Academy will take part in the fair alongside more than 30 private publishing houses.
