Bangladesh will take part in different SAFF Competitions. General Secretary of South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Anwarul Huq Helal disclosed all the matters related to
these competitions at a press conference held at the conference room in Bangladesh Football Federation House on Thursday. The draw ceremony was also held at the same venue on the same day.
SAFF Under-15 (Boys’) Championship will be held in India from August 21 to August 31. A number of five teams will take part in the football meet. Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and hosts India will compete in the football meet. Bangladesh will take on Bhutan on August 23, face Sri Lanka on August 25, meet Nepal on August on August 27 and play against India on Nepal August 29. The Championship will be held on Single League basis. Top two teams will play in the final on August 31.
SAFF Under-18 (Boys’) Championship will be taken place in Nepal from September 20 to September 29. A total of seven teams splitting into two groups will participate in the football tournament. Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka have been billed in Group-B, while Nepal, Maldives, Bhutan and Sri Lanka have been placed in Group-A. Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka on September 21, meet India on September 23. Top two teams from each group will play in the semi-finals. The winners of the two semi-finals will face each other in the final on September 29.
SAFF Under-15 (Girls’) Championship will be held in Bhutan on October 9 to October 15. A total of four teams will compete on the Single League basis. Hosts Bhutan, Nepal, India and Bangladesh will compete in the football competition. Bangladesh will face Bhutan on October 9, play against Nepal on October 11 and take on India on October 13. Top two teams will get the tickets of the final. The final will be held on October 15.
