Bangladesh to play holders India in first semi-final today

Bangladesh, the unbeaten champions of Group A, will play defending champions India in the first semifinal of the six-nation SAFF U-17 Championship today in Colombo.
The match will kick-off at 4.00pm Bangladesh time at Racecourse International Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The Group B champions Nepal will play Group A runners-up and hosts Sri Lanka in the 2nd semi-final on the same day at the same venue at 8 30pm Bangladesh time.
Bangladesh smartly booked a seat for the semifinal as the Group A champions with all-win record securing full six points from straight two matches outplaying hosts Sri Lanka by 5-1 goals in the first match and crushed the Maldives by 5-0 goals in their 2nd and last group match.
Holders India managed a semifinal berth as the Group B runners up securing three points from two matches after beating Bhutan by 3-0 goals in the first match and lost to Nepal by 1-3 goals in the last group encounters.
Nepal finished top in Group B with an all-win run beating Bhutan by 2-1 goals in the first match and outplayed giant India by 3-1 goals in the 2nd match while Sri Lanka managed the last four berth beating the Maldives by 1-0 goal after suffering 1-5 goals defeat against Bangladesh.
The final match will be held on Sept 14.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh team practiced on Sunday morning at the Kalania Sports complex in Colombo. There are no injury problems in the team and all are well prepared ahead of the semifinal against their giant neighbor India.
