Bangladesh Under-16 Women’s Football team will play stronger Australia in their 3rd and last Group B match of the eight-team final round of the AFC U-16 Championship at the IPE Stadium in Chonburi, Thailand today.
The match will kick-off at 5 pm (Bangladesh Time).
Both Australia and Bangladesh teams, which already eliminated from the Asian Junior Women’s meet losing both of their group matches, now looking for a positive result in their last group engagement.
The two teams conceded 12 goals each without scoring any in their two matches against North Korea and Japan.
Krinhna Rani Sarker led Bangladesh team somehow regained their confidence after conceding 0-3 goals defeat against World Junior Women’s Champions Japan in their 2nd group match on Thursday after a humiliating 0-9 goal defeat against holders North Korea in their first appearance .
Australia suffered 0-7 goals defeat against North Korea and conceded 0-5 goals defeat against Japan.
One the eve of the Sunday’s match, Head Coach of Bangladesh team Golam Rabbani Chotan Choton said, “I am happy, congratulate my girls the way they are improving their performance”. said a BFF media release on Saturday.
“Australia and Bangladesh match will be a competitive one, we are ready for our last match and will try to achieve a good result for Bangladesh, We don’t have any injury problem, everybody is physically and mentally ready for the match” he added
Bangladesh captain Krishna Rani Sarker said, “We (players) promised each other to play our best performance against Australia and will try to bring a ppositive result for our country, please pray for us for having a good result against Australia”.
Holders North Korea dominated the Group B with all win record securing six points from straight two matches scoring 16 goals without conceding any while Japan also bagged full six points from two outings and scored eight goals without conceding any.
The two teams will meet each other for the Group B title, also on Sunday at the same time at the Chonburi Stadium in Thailand.
