Bangladesh set to camp in the UAE before the Tri-nation series in New Zealand and play two T20 Internationals against UAE. Bangladesh will go to Dubai on September 22 as the schedule of two matches against the host team on September 25 and 27 has been finalised. The cricketers will return home on September 28.
Then, the team will then leave for the tri-nation series in New Zealand before the World Cup in Australia on September 30.
T20I captain Shakib al Hasan set to miss the series due to CPL [Caribbean Premier League] commitment as Nurul Hasan Sohan, who is the vice-captain of the side, will lead the Bangladesh team in the camp and warm-up matches in the United Arab Emirates.
“We have a plan to go to Dubai on the 22nd. Will be there from 22nd to 28th. We will most likely return on the 28th. During this period we have practice and two T20I matches. That is how we are communicating with the United Arab Emirates Cricket Board” said BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury in Mirpur.
CEO was asked about how impactful will be the UAE preparation before NZ and Australia tour, he said “More important than the condition is that we didn’t get the chance to prepare much here because of the bad weather. Considering these things, it is the team management’s plan and we have to act accordingly. What is more important than the condition is the match scenario and the other practice facilities they will get,” he added.
The team’s technical consultant Sridharan Sriram has returned to India and he will join the team from there.
