Bangladesh to face West Indies in first Test Friday

Bangladesh will take on host West Indies in the first of their two-match Test series on Friday (September 5) at Arnos Vale Ground, Kingstown, St Vincent.
The match will begin at 8:00 pm (Bangladesh Time).
Bangladesh will face the West Indies in the 2nd Test on September 13-17 at Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet, St Lucia.
Bangladesh and West Indies played 10 Test matches since 2002. West Indies tasted six wins against Bangladesh’s two win while the other two matches ended in draw.
Left-arm spinner Elias Sunny has replaced Sohag Gazi for the two-Test series Bangladesh squad. Sunny was due to leave Dhaka for West Indies on Tuesday to join the team in St Vincent for the first Test.
Sohag Gazi is required to be at the Cardiff Metropolitan University by September 19 to have his bowling action tested as he was reported by the umpires after the second ODI against West Indies on August 22 played at National Cricket Stadium, St George’s, Grenada.
Apart from Gazi, the players who returned home from St Kitts were Mohammad Mithun, Abdur Razzak, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Taskin Ahmed. They were replaced by Taijul Islam, Shafiul Islam, Shuvagata Hom and Robiul Islam.
Before the Tests, Bangladesh played a draw in their three-day practice match against St Kitts & Nevis which concluded on September 1 at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts.
In the practice match, Bangladesh scored 377 for 7 (dec) in 103.3 overs in the first innings with skipper Mushfiqur Rahim contributing an unbeaten century scoring 106 runs while Nasir Hossain hit another century scoring 100 runs.
In reply, St Kitts & Nevis opened the first innings on the 2nd day and were dismissed for 399 runs in 127 overs on the 3rd day. Shivnarine Chanderpaul scored a century with 183 runs while Shane Jeffers hit another century scoring 118 runs.
Shuvagata Hom, Rubel Hossain and Taijul Islam were the notable wicket taker for Bangladesh grabbing three wickets each for 48, 90 and 103 runs respectively.
Opening the 2nd innings on the 3rd day, Tigers scored 148 for 4 in 36 overs as the practice match ended in draw.
Meanwhile, the only T20I in the tour was washed out on August 27 while Bangladesh suffered a humiliating 0-3 loss in the three-match ODI series against the host.
