Bangladesh is going to participate in the Infocom 2016, an international business, technology and leadership event, to be kicked off on Thursday at Swissotel Kolkata, aiming to project the development in the country’s ICT sector over the last eight years.
Ananda Bazar Patrika (ABP) Group of Publication is arranging the 3-day event, one of the largest congregations of ICT professionals, buyers-sellers, corporate leaders, academics, visionaries and policymakers from different countries.
According to the organiser, Infocom 2016, which is designed to elaborate on key issues of handling disruptive transformation in businesses, will witness the deliberations and debates from leaders with respect to real-time cases of disruption and transformation and explore new opportunities that lie ahead, develop better products and services in the digital age. The event will bring together over 100 speakers and over 400 corporate from across the globe. Bangladesh’s IT experts have been asked to share their ideas, especially on transformation and challenges they are facing, to build Digital Bangladesh, Sami Ahmed, Team Leader of Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance (LICT) Project of ICT Division, who is also attending the event.
The theme of the Infocom 2016 is ‘transform, disrupt, transform’ which is based on the emerging need to disrupt business models before they are disrupted by external forces and take transformative initiatives to empower individuals for building future-ready organisations.
ICT Secretary Shyam Sunder Sikder and Sami Ahmed from the government of Bangladesh will address a session out of 20 to be organised to mark the event.
