“With the turning of the country into a middle-income one, poverty and hunger will not be seen further in the country where the quality of education and health for all and good governance will be ensured as well”, he said.

Mozena said research work on health and food was going on in South Asia to help ensure good health and food security in the region.
As part of the work, the research activities were also being conducted in Bangladesh to attain the cherished goal, he added.
Earlier, a power-point presentation was made on Gaibandha focusing on its geographical location, education, economy, culture and history, communication, industry and chars and its people.
The ambassador was pleased to hear that Gaibandha is a food surplus district as about 4.50 lakh tons of paddy was sent to other districts of the country after meeting its demand here.
Mentioning the river erosion in the district as a big challenge, Mozena hoped the country would be able to address the problem by taking effective measures.
Deputy Commissioner M. Ehsan-E-Elahi, police super M. Mofazzel Hossain, additional deputy commissioner (General) Abu Bakar Siddique, additional deputy commissioner (Revenue) Kamal Uddin Biswas were among others present on the occasion.
