“Not a middle-income country, Bangladesh will be one of the rich countries, if it can make proper use of its marine resources,” he said speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting organized by Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) at its Kakrail headquarters marking the Independence Day.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon addressed the meeting as the special guest while IDEB President AKMA Hamid was in the chair.

Amir Hossain Amu said, after being isolated from the people, the BNP is trying to reappear in the guise of political programmes.
Earlier, BNP chief Khaleda Zia burned people to death in the name of hartal-blockade, he added.
The BNP started fresh conspiracies against the people, he said and urged all progressive forces to remain alert.
The industries minister said the Awami League government in 1996 took preparations to develop a digital Bangladesh.
Then it had set up polytechnic institutes at the district level and established science and technology universities in the country, he added.
Responding to demands of diploma engineers, he said their logical demands would be accepted in the interest of industrialization.
