Bangladesh Tigers begin practice in Bogura

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB)’s Bangladesh Tigers programme, which is designed to train the country’s top cricketers throughout the year, began on Saturday at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura.
The 23-member camp has been led by Mominul Haque, including some Test specialists who are gearing up for the Two Tests and three ODIs against South Africa next month.
Bangladesh Tigers also comprises cricketers who are outside the national team and are often deprived of training facilities. Prominent coach Mizanur Rahman was appointed as the head coach of the team while former cricketers Aftab Ahmed and Nazmul Hossain, Talha Jubaer will assist as batting and fast bowling coaches respectively.
Umakant Patel, a British coach of Indian descent, has been appointed on a short-term contract for the camp. Sohel Islam was named the spin coach of the side while Umakant and Faisal Hossain Dickens will be the fielding coaches.
Sri Lankan coach Champaka Ramanayake is also in the program for the ‘Bangladesh Tigers’ team.
