Bangladesh Cricket team will take on New Zealand (NZ) in the third and final One Day International (ODI) at Basin Reserve in Wellington, New Zealand today. The match begins at 4.00am (Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite sports channel T Sports and private satellite channel GTV will telecast the match live from the stadium.
Earlier, Bangladesh were beaten by New Zealand by eight wickets in the first ODI at Dunedin on March 20.
Later, the tourists lost to the Kiwis by five wickets after giving a fight against New Zealand in Christchurch on March 23.
Marking the upcoming ODI match, Bangladesh Cricket team took part at the practice session in Wellington on Thursday.
Batting Coach of Bangladesh team Jon Lewis said to the players, ” You have to execute the ‘power play’ during the batting.”
The wickets of Wellington is like the wickets of Dunedin. Besides, New Zealand may include pacer Tim Southee in their squad for today’s match. Experienced batsman Ross Taylor also will be available for the last ODI match.
Lewis said, ” If our boys bat first they have to be cautious about the deliveries of new ball. New Zealand have pacer like Trent Boult and if they include Tim Southee, he will be a strike bowler. Our boys have to be watchful that the pacers cannot strike at the starting.”
He said, ” If our boys want to make a big score they have to execute the “power plays’. The batsmen have to take some risks and play some big shots. If our openers don’t lose their wickets in the early 10 overs after scoring at least 30 to 40 runs, the other batsmen will get that advantage.”
He also said, ” In Christchurch Soumya Sarkar and Tamim made a solid foundation. Later, Mithun executed the opportunity and Bangladesh made a big score.”
New Zealand’s experienced batsman Ross Taylor said, ” Players of New Zealand were lucky that they went to their positive way in the last game. I think Bangladesh will want to finish their last ODI in a high note.”
