Bangladesh Cricket team will take on New Zealand Cricket team in the first One Day International (ODI) at University Oval in Dunedin, New Zealand today. The match begins at 4.00am (Bangladesh Time). Private satellite sports channel T Sports and private satellite channel GTV will telecast the match live from the arena.
Bangladesh Cricket team left Dhaka for New Zealand on February 23. After that they have to take a 14-day quarantine in Christchurch. All the members of Bangladesh team underwent Covid-19 test for four times. It is a good news for Bangladesh team that all the members of Bangladesh team have tested negative for coronavirus. After the quarantine, Bangladesh team went to Queensland and took part in a five-day long coaching camp. Besides, Bangladesh cricketers took part in an intra-squad practice match.
Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Tamim Iqbal said, ” We could not do well here in our previous matches. But I hope this time we have an opportunity to do something well. If we win the series it will be a special thing for us.”
Tamim said, ” All the players of our team are motivated and they have positive approach. We are very much confident.”
Head Coach of Bangladesh team Russell Domingo said, ” It is a great opportunity for my boys. Earlier, the Bangladesh teams could not earn any positive result from here. I think this time the players of Bangladesh have a chance to do something positive. All the players of our team are eager to earn a positive result.”
It may be mentioned that Bangladesh Cricket team never won any matches against the hosts.
Captain of New Zealand Cricket team Tom Latham said, ” I hope we can start the series well. It is a special thing for me to lead the New Zealand Cricket team. I think we have get a good opportunity to earn a special and positive result.”
