Bangladesh Under-18 Football team will take on India Under-18 Football team in the final of the SAFF Under-18 Championship at APF Stadium in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal today. The match kicks-off at 3.15 PM.
On way to final, Bangladesh crushed Bhutan by 4-0 goals in the first semi-final at the same venue on Friday last.
Bangladesh thrashed Sri Lanka by 3-0 goals in their first Group-B match.
Then Bangladesh settled for a goalless draw with India in their last Group-B match.
On the other hand, India thrashed Maldives by 4-0 goals in the second semi-final at the same venue on Friday last.
India crushed Sri Lanka by 3-0 goals in their first Group-B match.
India made a goalless draw with Bangladesh in their second Group-B match.
Bangladesh and India secured four points from two matches.
Bangladesh and India secured four points from two matches. The goal difference between Bangladesh and India are also same. Besides, head-to-head comparison between the two teams was also same. Thus, the championship of Group-B was decided in the coin session. India won in the toss and India emerged as the Group-B champions, while Bangladesh became Group-B runners-up.
It may be mentioned that, Bangladesh and India are unbeaten before the final of the football meet.
All the matches were held at APF Stadium.
Nepal clinched the championship title in the SAFF Under-18 Championship 2015. India became runners-up in that year’s football competition.
Nepal also emerged as the champions in that meet in 2017. Bangladesh finished runners-up in that year’s football meet.
So, the new champions of this year will be decided today.
