Motivated Bangladesh under-16 team take on Afghanistan counterpart in first semifinals of the six-nation SAFF U-16 Championship schedule to be held today (Sunday) at the Sylhet District Stadium.
The match kicks off at 3 pm. In the day’s another semifinal, last year’s runners-up Nepal will play against defending champions India at the same venue at 6 pm.
Earlier, Bangladesh made a flying start in the championship when they dumped Sri Lanka by 4-0 goals and emerged group champions in the championship shocking holders India by 2-1 goals in the second match.
On the other hand, Afghanistan beat Maldives by 4-2 goals in their group B opening match but they finished group runners-up losing to Nepal by a solitary goal in the second match.
Nepal emerged as group B champions winning both their group matches while India finished runners-up.
