Bangladesh suffer 8-0 defeat in Indoor Asia Cup

The Bangladesh national hockey team suffered a massive 0-8 goal defeat to defending champions Iran in their second pool A match of Indoor Asia Cup held on Tuesday in Chonburi, Thailand.
In the day’s match, Nooranian opened an account for Iran early in the 1st minute and he doubled the lead in the 3rd minute of the match.
Norouzzadeh scored the third goal for the defending champions in the fifth minute while Mirzakhanian netted the fourth goal in the 16th minute while Norouzzadeh scored his second and fifth for Iran in the 22nd minute of the match.
Taherirad further widened the team’s margin scoring the sixth goal for Iran in the 30th minute while after the breather Norouzzadeh scored his third goal and seventh for the team in the 39th minute.
Beiranvand completed the winners tally scoring the eighth goal for Iran in the 40th minute of the match.
Bangladesh have been grouped in Pool A along with defending champions Iran, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand while the Pool B consist with Chinese Taipei, Kazakhstan, Myanmar, Nepal, Singapore and Uzbekistan.
The boys in red and green will play their third match against Philippines schedule to be held today (Wednesday) before playing their final group match against Thailand on July 18.
Earlier, Bangladesh suffered a 0-6 goal defeat to Malaysia in their group opening match.
