Bangladesh National Hockey team suffered 0-7 goals defeat against former champions and host South Korea in the last Pool ‘A’ match of the 17th Asian Games Hockey at the Seonhak Hockey Stadium, Incheon on Saturday.
In the 7th place deciding classification match, Bangladesh will face Oman on September 30 at the same venue.
Korea scored five field goals and remaining two goals from penalty corners.
Seongkyu Kim fired the net first by a field goal in the very 4th minute (1-0), Moonkweon Kang doubled the margin two minutes later, also by a field goal (2-0). Daekeun Oh scored his first field goal in the 19th minute (3-0) while Hyosik You scored another field goal in 30th minute (4-0)..
Jonghyun scored two goals in the 42nd and 51st minutes, first one was a field goal and rest one from a penalty corners (6-0) while Hyunwoo Nam sealed the fate of the match scoring another goal from a penalty corner in the 59th minute (7-0)..
This was the 3rd consecutive defeat for Bangladesh in the Asian Games Hockey against South Korea after conceding 0-10 goals defeat in the 1994 Asian Games in Hiroshima, 0-9 goal defeat in the 2006 Asian Games in Doha.
Earlier in Pool A matches of the ongoing Incheon Asain Games, Bangladesh lost to Japan 0-8, lost to Malaysia 1-5 and earned their lone victory beating Singapore by 2-1 goals.
