SAFF U-19 Championship: Bangladesh storm into semi-final

Bangladesh U-19 Football team stormed into the semi-final of the SAFF U-19 Championship with one match in hand eliminating Bhutan by 2-0 goals in their opening group A match held on Saturday at the ANFA ground in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The boys in red and green scored both the goals in the first half and they maintained it till the final whistle of the proceeding, source goalnepal.com.
The day’s result mean Bhutan made exit from the championship race losing both their group matches.
Earlier they lost their tournament opening match to host Nepal by 1-3 goals. Bangladesh have one more group match to play against Nepal.
The match is schedule to be held on Monday (Aug. 24) at the same venue. Rohit Sarkar gave Bangladesh a deserving lead in the 42nd minute.
Capitalizing mistake of Bhutanese defenders Rohit sent the ball home from close range with cool finishing. Mannaf Rubby converted the joy double for Bangladesh in the 44nd minute.
This time he dodged the custodian and placed the ball home through the legs of Bhutanese defenders.
After the breather, the youth sides got couple of scoring chances but failed to convert any of those into a goal. On the other hand, the Bhutan were totally off-color as they hardly failed to create any real scoring chances.
On completion of the group matches, the two semifinals matches will be held on Aug 27- the first one at 12 noon while the 2nd semis at 3:30 pm (local time).
The final match is slated on August 29 at 3 pm.
