Bangladesh-SL Cricket President`s XI warm-up match ends in a draw

The two-day warm-up match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka (SL) Cricket President’s XI match ended in a draw at De Zoysa Stadium in Moratuwa, Sri Lanka on Friday.
Sent into bat first, Bangladesh declared their first innings after scoring a mammoth 391for the loss of seven wickets on the first day (Thursday).
In reply, Sri Lanka Cricket President’s XI made 403 for the loss of seven wickets in the first innings on the second day (Friday).
Sri Lanka faced an early debacle losing three wickets for 29 runs.
Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed played the key role to give early breakthrough.
Later, Dinesh Chandimal and ARS Silva salvaged their team from disaster contributing together 81 runs for the fourth wicket partnership before Silva (38) was caught behind by wicketkeeper Liton Das off Taskin Ahmed when Sri Lanka’s score was 110 for the loss of four wickets.
Earlier, Taskin Ahmed dismissed opener WIA Fernando for three runs and removed one-down ISS Samarasooriya for a duck.
Then ‘Wonder Boy’ Mustafizur Rahman removed opener RK Chandraguptha for 20 runs.
After dismissal of ARS Silva, Chandimal and MLR Buddika put on together 53 runs for the fifth wicket partnership before Buddika (32) was bowled by Soumya Sarkar when the hosts’ total was 163 for the loss of five wickets. Chandimal remained unbeaten with 190. He hit 21 fours and seven sixes in his 253-ball innings.
C Carunaratne remained unbeaten with exact 50. He struck seven fours and two sixes in his 42-ball knock.
After departure of Buddika, Chandimal and LK Fransisco adding together 56 runs for the sixth wicket stand before Fransisco (27) was bowled out by Mustafizur Rahman when Sri Lanka’s total was 219 for the loss of six wickets.
Chandimal and PWH de Silva added 72 runs for the seventh wicket partnership before PWH Silva (32) was stumped out by Liton Das off Mehedi Hasan Miraz when the islanders’ score was 291 for the loss of seven wickets.
Chandimal and Karunaratne produced 112 runs for the unbroken eighth wicket stand when Sri Lanka’s innings came to an end.
Taskin Ahmed grabbed three wickets at the cost of 41 runs, while Mustafizur Rahman bagged a pair of wickets instead of 28 runs.
