Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) organises eight-day long Bangladesh Short Film and Documentary Film Festivals 2018 in 64 districts from December 8 to 15.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor MP will inaugurate the festival as the chief guest at National Art Gallery of BSA 5:00pm on December 8.
To be chaired by Director General of BSA Liaquat Ali Lucky Secretary to the Information Ministry Abdul Malek, Secretary to the Cultural Affairs Ministry Md Nasir Uddin Ahmed, noted filmmaker Manzare Hasin Murad, President of Bangladesh Film Directors Association Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar and President of Bangladesh Short Film Forum Zahidur Rahman Anjan will be also present as special guests on the occasion.
A five-member selection committee selected 48 short films and 22 documentary films for screening this year’s festival. For both short film and documentary film Best Film will get Tk 1 lakh, Best Filmmaker will get Tk 50,000 and special jury award will get Tk 25,000. Announcement of the awardees will be declared on concluding day of the festival on December 15 at National Art Gallery auditorium of BSA.
This was announced by DG of BSA Liaquat Ali Lucky at a press conference held at Conference Room of BSA on Thursday where other officials of the Academy were also present.
