Bangladesh seeks UAE investment Economic Reporter

Minister Anisul Huq has urged the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and its enterprises to invest in infrastructure, power, energy, tourism and hospitality sectors of Bangladesh.
“We consider investment from the UAE to Bangladesh as a priority,” he said while addressing at a reception marking the 47th UAE National Day at the residence of the UAE Ambassador to Bangladesh Saed Mohammed Al Mheiri in the capital on Sunday night.
Mentioning that a significant numbers of Bangladeshi expatriates are employed in the UAE, the minister said cooperation in the area of human resources is the key sector of cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
He said Bangladesh and the UAE are time tested friend and we are working closely in the UN, OIC and other regional and international fora and supporting each other’s causes.
“We’re confident that the firmly-established Bangladesh-UAE brotherly relations will continue to move forward in the coming years,” Huq said. The UAE Ambassador said Bangladesh and the UAE share close people-to-people bond, similar national realities and complementary development goals. He said the relationship between the two countries is based on the principles of cooperation and mutual respect which has reached the level of strategic partnership between the two countries and people in recent years. The UAE envoy said his country is actively involved in the fight against extremism and terrorism, and a key element in the country’s determined efforts to ensure its national security and enhance international security. Number of politicians, diplomats stationed in Dhaka, business leaders and high officials joined the reception.
UAE national day is celebrated on 2 December each year which marks the UAE’s Union Day between the seven emirates held in a single unity in 1971.
