Bangladesh seeks more Korean investment

It also wants increased workers recruitment in Korea

Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali on Thursday urged outgoing Korean Ambassador Lee Yun-young to encourage Korean investors to invest more in Bangladesh.
The Foreign Minister expressed satisfaction as the Employment Permit System (EPS) introduced by Korea now provides opportunities for Bangladesh nationals to work in Korea and hoped that Korea will increase the intake of Bangladesh workers in the near future.
The issues came up for discussion when Ambassador Lee met the Foreign Minister at the latter’s his office, according to the Foreign Ministry here.
During the meeting, Lee appraised the Foreign Minister about various ongoing projects run with development assistance from Korea.
The Ambassador also briefed him about some initiatives on corporate social responsibility (CSR) undertaken by Korean companies in Bangladesh.
Mahmood Ali also expressed gratitude to the Korean government for the Korean development assistance in key areas like human resources development of Bangladesh, especially in technical and vocational training programmes.
He hoped that Korea would expand and increase its development assistance in the key areas of socioeconomic development.
