Bangladesh retained their winning spree in the Islami Bank Asian Games Hockey Qualifying Tournament when they defeated Singapore by two goals to nil in their second match at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.
After a barren first half, Krishna Kumar of Bangladesh got a ball at the goal mouth melee of Singapore and Krishna put his team ahead by a forceful shot in the 40th minute of the play.
In the 48th minute Bangladesh were awarded a penalty corner. Nannu pushed the ball, Srawar stopped it and Chayan sruck the ball into the net.
Earlier, Bangladesh created a good number of moves but they failed to convert it.
Later, Bangladesh got a penalty corner just two minutes before the long whistle but the goalkeeper of Singapore saved his team from danger.
Krishna Kumar of Bangladesh was adjudged the Man of the Match.
Today Chinese Taipei will take on Sri Lanka at 2.00 pm while Oman will face Qatar at 4.00 pm at the same venue.
