Bangladesh reports 706 new virus cases, takes tally close to 12,500

Bangladesh on Thursday reported another 706 cases of Covid-19 infections in last 24 hours.
With the new cases the number of infections now stands at 12,425 across the country, said Professor Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General (Administration) of DGHS, in a press briefing in Dhaka.
She said that the government will release the daily and total death counts later on Thursday.
Dr. Sultana said, the number of recoveries also climbed to 1,910 after 107 more patients were released from hospitals in the 24 hours to 8 am the day.
A total of 5,867 people were tested in the same period in the 34 testing facilities including the newly established Dhaka University center..
The official said that the DGHS has formulated a set of new guidelines for factories and other institutions which are gradually reopening as the government begins to loosen the nationwide lockdown.
She urged the people to maintain the safety measures to prevent a further outbreak of the virus.
