Covid-19: Bangladesh records 54 more deaths as cases cross 300,000 mark

Bangladesh has recorded 54 Covid-19 deaths and 2,519 fresh cases in the last 24 hours.
The recovery count rose to 190,183 after another 3,427 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the period, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday.
“54 more coronavirus patients died in the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 4,082,” added the release.
It said the tally of infections has surged to 302,147 as 2,519 new cases were confirmed in the past 24 hours.
A total of 15,070 samples were tested at 92 authorized laboratories across the country during the same period.
Of the total sample tests in the past 24 hours, 16.72% tested positive, while 20.34% cases were detected from the total tests conducted so far, the release added.
Among the total infections, 62.94% patients have recovered, while 1.35% died so far since the first Covid-19 positive cases were reported in the country on March 8.
