Staff Reporter : Bangladesh has ranked highest in bribery threat risk in South Asian countries, an international organization said.
In the latest global bribery risk index, 2019, Trace Bribery Risk Matrix, an internationally recognized organization working in this field, said.
According to the report, Bangladesh scored 72 which is highest among south Asian countries.
This score is a combination of the four domain scores, which are to produce the overall country risk level.
In terms of risk score in the index, India ranked 78th, Pakistan 153rd, Myanmar ranked 157th and Afghanistan 168th.
According to the latest Trace Matrix data, Somalia, South Sudan, North Korea, Yemen and Venezuela posed the highest risk of bribe demands in the world.
On the other hand, New Zealand, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland secured the states of lowest bribery risk.
