Players of Bangladesh are eager to take part in the five-day long coaching camp at Queensland. Earlier, Members of Bangladesh Cricket team had to take a 14-day quarantine period at a hotel in Christchurch. After completing the quarantine period Bangladesh players are eager to take part in the five-day long coaching camp. After taking part in the coaching camp members of Bangladesh Cricket team will leave Queensland for Dunedin to play their first ODI against the Kiwis. The first ODI match will be held on March 20. The match starts at 4.00am (Bangladesh Time).
During the quarantine period, members of Bangladesh Cricket team underwent Covid-19 test for four times. They have tested negative all the test for coronavirus. The members of Bangladesh Cricket team became negative for last Covid-19 test on Tuesday last. Thus they were allowed to leave Christchurch for Queenstown on Wednesday. The players of Bangladesh Cricket team will take part in a five-day long coaching camp there.
Before leaving Christchurch, Tamim Iqbal said they are totally free. Captain of Bangladesh Cricket (ODI) team Tamim Iqbal appreciated the protocol of New Zealand Cricket during their 14-day long quarantine period. He thanked the authority of New Zealand Cricket for their cautious attitude for Bangladesh cricketers. Tamim said, ” I am grateful to New Zealand (NZ) authority for the protocols imposed by them during our quarantine period.”
Tamim said, ” It feels grand, it was a first time experience for us. Earlier, we had been in bio-bubble secure environment but it was not a complete isolation. The authority of New Zealand arranged complete isolation for us. The members of the New Zealand authority looked after us really up to the mark. They arranged everything for us and we thank them. They made comfortable as possible as they can during the 14-day long quarantine period.
He said, ” The coronavirus pandemic made everybody’s life difficult. We feel a different dimension to the challenge faced by professional athletes.”
The Bangladesh ODI Captain said, ” We have to face isolation for 14 days and things are different now. We have to respect the rules of the country and look forward. Good thing is that we’re out in fresh air.”
