The Trophy finalists will join reigning champions Australia, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the West Indies in the main event, which will be staged alongside the men’s event from March 11 to April 3 next year.
However, in the shield semifinals, PNG will meet the Netherlands at 9 am while hosts Thailand will encounter China at 12:45pm, both at the Asian Institute of Technology ground in Bangkok, also on Thursday.
On completion of group matches on Tuesday, Bangladesh topped the Group A list with all-win record securing full six points from three matches while Scotland finished group runners-up securing four points from three group matches, with two wins and one defeat.
On way to the semifinals, Bangladesh beat host Thailand by 73 runs, defeated Scotland by eight wickets and beat Papua New Guinea (PNG) by 41 runs in group matches.
