Bangladesh pile up 341 for nine wickets

A superb century by dashing opener Tamim Iqbal powered Bangladesh to pile up a mammoth total of 341 for the loss of nine wickets in 50 overs against Pakistan in their warm-up match of the ICC Champions Trophy at Edgbaston in Birmingham on Saturday.
Tamim Iqbal hit a terrific 102. His 93-ball innings was laced with nine fours and four sixes.
Bangladesh had an unlucky start as opener Soumya Sarkar (19) was caught by Babar Azam off Junaid Khan when Bangladesh’s score was 27.
After dismissal of Sarkar, dashing opener Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes rescued their team from early debacle contributing together 142 runs for the second wicket partnership before Imrul Kayes was trapped leg before wicket by Shadab Khan when the Tigers’ total was 169 for the loss of two wickets.
Imrul Kayes notched up a sparkle 61. His 62-ball knock was ornamented with eight fours.
After departure of Kayes, opener Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim added 50 runs in the third wicket stand before Tamim Iqbal was caught by Junaid Khan off Shadab Khan when the team’s score was 219 for the loss of three wickets.
Then Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan put on together 28 runs in the four-wicket stand before Mushfiqur Rahim was caught by Shoaib Malik off Junaid Khan when Bangladesh’s total was 247 for the loss of four wickets.
Mushfiqur Rahim made a polished 46 from 35 balls featuring three fours and three sixes.
After dismissal of Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah Riyad added together 49 runs for the fifth wicket partnership before Riyad was caught by Shoaib Malik off Hasan Ali when Bangladesh’s score was 296 for the loss of five wickets.
Riyad scored 29 off 24 balls with six fours.
After departure of Riyad, Shakib Al Hasan could stay at the crease for a short period as he was caught by Shadab Khan off Hasan Ali when the team’s total was 302 for the loss of six wickets.
Shakib Al Hasan hit 23 from 27 balls.
Then Mosaddek Hossain and Mehedi Hasan Miraz contributed together 29 runs in the seventh wicket stand before Mosaddek Hossain was caught by Azhar Ali off Junaid Khan when the Tigers’ total was 331 for the loss of seven wickets.
Mosaddek Hossain hit 26 using 15 balls including three fours and a six.
Junaid Khan grabbed four wickets at the cost of 73 runs, while Shadab Khan and Hasan Ali got two wickets each conceding 55 and 58 runs respectively.
