Bangladesh open and women’s both teams won their 5th round matches in open section and women’s section of the 43rd World Chess Olympiad now being held at Sports Place in Batumi in Georgia.
In the 5th round matches of both sections were held on Friday, Bangladesh open team beat Madagascar by 3-1 games points and Bangladesh women’s team beat Singapore by 3-1 games points.
GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib (Rating-2472) beat IM Rakotomaharo Fy Antenaina (Rating-2422) of Madagascar, GM Ziaur Rahman (Rating-2477) beat FM Ralison Milanto Harifidy (Rating-2281) of Madagascar, FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman (Rating-2263) beat Andriamasoandro Miora (Rating-2126) of Madagascar and FM Khandaker Aminul Islam (Rating-2273) lost to CM Rajaonarison Faniry of Madagascar (Rating-2126).
Bangladesh team earned seven points out of five matches in open section.
In the 5th round match of women’s section, WFM Sharmin Sultana Shirin (Rating-1974) beat Hng Mei-En Emmanuelle of Singapore (Rating-2020), WFM Zakia Sultana (Rating-1838) beat Hng Mei-Xian Eunice (Rating-1687), WFM Tanima Parveen (Rating-2022) drew with WFM Liu Yang Hazel (Rating-2064) and WIM Rani Hamid drew with Siew Kai Xin (Rating-1751).
