The Yonex-Sunrise Bangladesh Open International Badminton Challenge’2015, to be organised by Bangladesh Badminton Federation under the supervision of Badminton World Federation and Badminton Asia Confederation, begins today (Tuesday) at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith will inaugurate the five-day tournament in the morning as the chief guest. Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy will also be present as a special guest.
Twelve countries – the USA, Russia, Ukraine, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Cambodia, Sri Lanka and hosts Bangladesh — will compete in five events — men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles.
Yonex-Sunrise will sponsor the five-day tournament. Besides, Beximco Pharma, Computer Source and Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited are co-sponsors while Pepsi and Aquafina drink partners and Bangladesh Cricket Board is the event partner.
