The elections of the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) was held on Saturday at the BOA House .
The BOA polls earlier saw Army Chief General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Haq and Syed Shahed Reza retained their position of the president’s and secretary general as no other candidate filed their names for those positions.
Out of the 37 posts, three will remain vacant for the next four years as no fitting councilors for those posts have been found.
The president [Army Chief General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq], the secretary general [Syed Shahed Reza], two vice presidents [Anjan Chowdhury Pintu and Mahbub Ara Gini], one deputy secretary [Najib Ahmed] and six executive members from different quotas have already been elected unopposed.
The councilors, had the opportunity to cast their votes to elect three vice presidents, two deputy secretaries, a treasurer and 17 members
BFF vice-president Badal Roy, the former BOA ‘s deputy secretary general of the previous committee, president of the Bangladesh gymnastics Federation Bashir Al Mamun, president of the Bangladesh Shooting Sports Federation Nazimuddin Chowdhury were elected as the three vice-president posts.
For the post of two deputy secretary general post, general secretary of the Bangladesh Handball Federation Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, general secretary of the Bangladesh Volleyball Federation Ashiqur Rahman Miku were elected for those two positions.
The most exciting post of treasurer was retained by Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapal defeating former BOA’s Deputy Secretary imtiaz Khan Babul.
The members who were elected are AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul, Abdus Sadeque, MB Saif Mola, Amir Hossain Bahar, Din Mohammad, Tabibur Rahman Palwan, Shawkat Ali Khan Jahangir, MA Quddus Khan, AK Sarkar, Mahmudul Islam Rana, Haji Khorshed, Advocate Rakib Uddin Montu and Selim.
