Bangladesh National Under-16 Women’s Football team will leave the city today for Japan to take part in the J-Green Sakai Lady’s Festival Under-15 at Osaka in Japan.
A total of 20 teams splitting into four groups will participate in the football festival. Eighteen Japanese Under-15 Women’s Football team, Thailand National Under-16 Women’s Football team, Bangladesh National Under-16 Women’s Football team will compete in the gala football festival for women.
Bangladesh National Under-16 Women’s Football team, AC Imabari, Cerezo, NGU Nagoya FC Ladies, Amagasaki Ladies are in Group-D.
Bangladesh will play a friendly match against Academy Sakai.
The duration time of each match is 40 minutes.
After the group matches, the knock out phase will be started.
Marking the upcoming mega football festival, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) House on Monday. General Secretary of Bangladesh Football Federation Md Abu Nayeem Shohag, Head of Sports and Welfare Department of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, Chairperson of the Women’s Wing of BFF Mahfuza Akter Kiron, Head Coach of Bangladesh National Women’s Football team Golam Rabbani Choton, Assistant Coach of the team Mahbubur Rahman Litu, Captain of the team Krishnarani Sarkar, Vice-Captain of the team Maria Manda were present, among others.
Kiron said, ” The tournament is a high level competition. It is a preparation mission for the team, which will play in the final round of the AFC Under-16 Women’s Football Championship. The tournament will be held in September in Thailand.”
Dawn said, ” I hope the girls will bring a good result from the competition.”
Choton said, It will be a preparation for the tournament of Thailand. The girls are going to get a good chance to play in a highly competitive football meet.”
Krishnarani said, ” Our opponents are stronger. We hope we shall learn something special from the competition.”
Maria said, ” We shall give our best and we shall try to earn a good result.”
