Bangladesh lose to Sri Lanka in SA Games men’s volleyball

Bangladesh men’s volleyball team finished fourth as they lost to Sri Lanka by 3-1 set in the place deciding match of the ongoing 13th South Asian (SA) Games men’s volleyball event held on Monday at cover hall at Tripureshwor here.
Bangladesh went ahead by winning the first set by 25-23 set points but Sri Lanka staged a fight back by winning the second set 25-20 set points.
Sri Lanka took the lead when they won the third set by 25-16 set points and the Islanders sealed the victory by winning the fourth set by 25-21 set points.
Earlier, on Sunday, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka teams were eliminated from the title race after conceding a straight 0-3 sets defeat against Pakistan and 3-1 set defeat to India respectively in the semifinals encounters.
Two traditional rivals India and Pakistan will play in the gold deciding final scheduled to be held tomorrow (Tuesday) at 3pm.
Earlier, Bangladesh men’s team beat hosts Nepal by 3-2 sets in a keenly contested first match and confirmed their spot of semifinal as group A runners-up, despite losing to India by an straight 0-3 sets in their second match.
