Bangladesh lost to Pakistan by an innings and 44 runs in the first Test cricket match on the fourth day at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi of Pakistan on Monday.
Sent into bat first, Bangladesh scored 233 in the first innings on the first day (Friday).
In reply, Pakistan piled up a mammoth total of 445 runs in the first innings on the third day (Sunday).
Later, Bangladesh were all out for 168 in the second innings on the fourth day.
Bangladesh resumed their second innings with the over-night score of 126 for the loss of six wickets.
Mominul Haque and Liton Das resumed their second innings with the over-night score of 37 and naught respectively.
Mominul Haque could add more four runs on the fourth day, as he was trapped leg before wicket by Shaheen Shah Afridi when the tourists’ total was 130 for the loss of seven wickets.
Mominul hit a sedate 41. He hit five fours in his 93-ball knock.
After Mominul’s dismissal, Bangladesh batsmen failed to build any notable partnership.
Seventh-down Rubel Hossain (5) was trapped leg before wicket by Mohammad Abbas when the visitors’ score was 156 for the loss of eight wickets.
Sixth-down Liton Das was trapped leg before wicket by Yasir Shah when the touring side’s total was 165 for the loss of nine wickets.
Liton Das made 29 from 59 balls featuring four fours and a sixer.
Number-10 batman Abu Jayed (3) was caught at the slip by Asad Shafiq off Yasir Shah when Bangladesh’s second innings came to an end.
Yasir Shah was the day’s most successful bowler of Pakistan with four wickets at the cost of 58 runs.
Besides, Mohammad Abbas got one wicket on the fourth day. He took one wicket for 33 runs.
Naseem Shah grabbed altogether (1+4)=5 wickets at the cost of (61+26)=87 runs. Naseem Shah was adjudged the Man of the Match.
