Bangladesh on Monday logged record 1,034 coronavirus infections and 11 more people died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
This is the highest number of infections detected in a day so far in the country.
“With the cases, the death toll reached to 239 and the number of infections now stand at 15,691 in the country,” said Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), in the daily online bulletin on the COVID-19 situation in Dhaka.
Among the deceased, 5 were males and 6 were females.
The DGHS official said that total 7,208 samples were tested in 37 labs across the country since Sunday.
Besides, 252 patients of Covid-19 have recovered around the country in the last 24 hours. The total recovery number stands at 2,902 now, Dr. Sultana said.
She said also that total 183 people were put under isolation during the period.
