Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team leveled the five-match Youth ODI series 2-2 after beating Sri Lanka Under-19 side by 60 runs in the 4th match at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Saturday.
Earlier, the Young Tigers bounced back in the five-match series beating Sri Lankan by 39 runs in the 3rd ODI on Thursday after two successive defeats by seven wickets and four runs respectively in first two matches.
Touring Bangladesh Under-19 team will play their Sri Lankan counterpart in the series-deciding match on Sunday at the Sinhalese Sports Club ground in Colombo.
In the 4th ODI, Bangladesh batted first after winning the toss and piled-up a moderate total of 236 runs for 9 in stipulated 50 overs, featuring 48 runs in the opening stand by Joyraj Sheikh and Saif Hasan.
Joyraj Sheikh made 37-ball 30 runs hitting four fours while Saif Hasan scored a patient 53-ball 29 runs including three boundaries.
Vice-captain Nazmul Hossain Shanta, who played a key role in Bangladesh’s maiden victory in the series on Thursday hammering 69 runs, today (Saturday) also helped Bangladesh to level the ODI series contributing 50 runs off 71 balls, featuring four boundaries.
Number five batsman Zakir Hasan, who made 62 runs in the previous match, today (Saturday) also contributed another half century making 50 runs off 66 balls with two over boundaries.
