Bangladesh land of communal harmony for time immemorial

Local public representatives at an inaugural function of a temple at Chandanpat Barovita village in Rangpur Sadar Upazila have said Bangladesh is a land of communal harmony for time immemorial.
“The present government is working to ensure welfare of the people irrespective of caste, creed and religion,” said Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Nasima Zaman Boby while addressing the function held on Thursday afternoon as the chief guest.
The Chandanpat Barovita Universal Crematory authority organised the function on the occasion of inauguration of the temple and renovation of the crematory with Chairman of Chandanpat Union Parishad, Md Aminur Rahman in the chair.
Member of Rangpur Zila Parishad and President of district unit of Bangladesh Awami Swechchasebak League Sirajul Islam and its General Secretary Dhanojeet Ghosh Taposh, Acting President of district unit of Bangladesh Puja Udjapon parishad Ajoy Prasad Babon, addressed the function as special guests. Nasima Zaman Boby inaugurated the new temple and renovation work of the crematory there by cutting a ribbon in presence of hundreds of common people of the local area.
In her speech, Boby said the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina firmly believes in communal harmony and people of all faiths in the country are enjoying equal rights in nurturing their own religious rituals.
She also called upon religious leaders of all faiths to assist the present government and work unitedly imbued with the spirit of the War of Liberation to establish sustainable peace, equality and brotherhood in the society for speeding up national progress.
