Bangladesh Under-14 Girls Football team forced stronger India to play 1-1 draw in their opening match of the AFC U-14 Girls Regional Championship at the Dasharat Stadium in Kathmandhu, Nepal on Tuesday
Marzia put Bangladesh ahead while Soni Kumar restored the parity for India, both in the first half, according a message received here from Kathmandu.
In the very 6th minute of the match, Bangladesh captain Krishna Rani Sarker spoiled a good opportunity as she sent the over the crosspiece in one to one situation with opponent goalie Lucky in her mercy.
However, Marzia put Bangladesh ahead in the 20th minute by an angular shot from the danger zone as Indian defender Santi failed to clear the ball (1-0).
Indian skipper Soni Kumar leveled the margin in the 24th minute by a long shot from top of the box beating Bangladesh goalie Taslima (1-1).
Earlier on Monday, India beat Bhutan by 12- 0 goals, Sri Lanka defeated the Maldives by 6- 0 goals while hosts Nepal beat IR Iran by 3-2 goals.
