Bangladesh Football team reached Doha, the capital city of Qatar on Friday to play their rest of the Group-E matches of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Before leaving Dhaka defender Topu Barman said, ” I know our opponent teams are stronger than us. But our target is to snatch points from them. Hoping that we shall return home after achieving good results.”
Captain of Bangladesh Football team Jamal Bhuiyan said, ” we shall try hard to earn a good result and return home by holding our head high. But our mission is really hard. Because all our opponent teams are stronger than us.”
Bangladesh Football team played a practice match against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited at the country’s prime venue Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday last. The Red-and-Green outfit made a 2-2 draw with the Dhanmondi-based outfit.
Head Coach of Bangladesh Football team Jamie Day said, ” Our target is to do good. My boys will take part in practice sessions for a couple of days at Doha, and will take preparation for first match. We shall try to return Dhaka with a good result.”
Defender Mehedi Hasan said, ” We shall play three matches in Qatar. We want to earn good result. At least one or two draws against our opponent teams. I think it will be impossible to beat Oman. So, our main target is to do good against India and Afghanistan.”
Bangladesh will take on Afghanistan on June 3, meet India on June 7 and face Oman on June 15.
Earlier, Bangladesh made a 1-1 draw against India at Kolkata, the former capital city of India. Bangladesh had a 1-0 lead in the 88th minute of that match.
The Red-and-Green outfit lost to Afghanistan by a solitary goal. Bangladesh tasted a 2-0 defeat to Qatar in Dhaka, while lost to Qatar 5-0 at Doha.
Bangladesh lost to Oman by 4-1 goals at Oman.
