Bangladesh National Football team will leave here for Tajikistan on Friday morning to play the away match of the FIFA World Cup and Asia Cup Qualifiers against Tajikistan at Republican Central Stadium in Dushanbe on November 12 with a hope to win the match.
In their home match, Bangladesh played to 1-1 draw with Tajikistan at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka on June 16.
Former national footballer Iqbal Hossain will lead the Bangladesh team comprising 23 players and 11 officials as team leader.
Addressing a pre-match press conference at the BFF House on Thursday afternoon, Head coach of Bangladesh team Fabio Lopez said, “We have respect for our opponents, but this time our preparation is well, we are hoping for a good result… we want to win as every team has chance to win.”
Our negative side will be that we will play in away venue, but it has some positive impacts also as there will be no home pressure,” he added.
“After taking the charge of Bangladesh team, he said he adopted some strategies and the players are accustomed to it and are doing well. “Their self confidence has also improved.”
Bangladesh captain Mamunul Islam Mamun said, “We are going to Tajikistan six to seven days ahead of the match to adjust ourselves with the local (cold) weather. We are improving day by day… our target is to get point (against Tajikistan) to qualify for the Asia Cup.”
BFF Senior Vice President Abdus Salam Murshedy, Vice President Badal Roy and general secretary Abu Nayem Shohag also spoke on the occasion.
