Bangladesh Baseball team finished third in the Amateur Baseball Federation of India (ABFI) Presidential Cup International Baseball Championship at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati, Assam, India recently.
Bangladesh defeated India in their first match. But Bangladesh lost to Nepal in the second match. Later, Bangladesh were beaten to India in the semi-final.
India emerged as the champions defeating Nepal in the final. Nepal became runners-up in the meet.
It may be mentioned that Bangladesh for the first time took part in an international baseball tournament. Tapos Das of Bangladesh was adjudged the best fielder of the tournament.
Walton Group was sponsoring Bangladesh Baseball team in the ABFI Presidential Cup International Baseball Championship.
Bangladesh Baseball team returns home today.
