Bangladesh finish runners-up with five more gold

Bangladesh won five more gold medals and finished runners-up in the 8th NSKA International Martial Art Karate Championship that concluded on Saturday in the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu.In the championship, Bangladesh raised their tally to secured seven gold, two silver and three bronze medals. On the last day of the meet, Munni Khanam and Naasima Akter Jui won gold and silver medals in the women’s singles kata event. Munni Khanam also secured gold in open 50 kg kumi event and Bipasha bagged bronze in -50 kg kumi event while Nasima Akter Jui secured gold in -55 kg kumi event. Mohammad Hasan won gold in men’s singles open kata event while Shamim Osman bagged gold in men’s singles kumi in -60 kg weight category. Shamim however bagged bronze silver medals in u- 18 men’s age group weight kata category and open singles kumi event. Bangladesh also secured bronze in men’s team event kumi.RB group additional director, head of games and sports FM Iqbal Bin Anwar was present as special guest on the concluding day.
