Bangladesh, in their first appearance in the Commonwealth Karate Championship, finished 7th among the 18 participating countries securing two silver and two bronze medals held in Talkatora Indoor Stadium in New Delhi, India.
Bangladesh earned silver medal in Kumi of the women’s -48 kgs and in Kata of the men’s team event in the 8th Commonwealth Karate Championship.
Besides, Bangladesh won bronze medals in Kumi event of the men’s -50 kgs and in the men’s -55 kgs weight categories.
