The biennial election of Bangladesh Film Directors’ Association was held on Friday at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) from 9:00am to 1:00pm and from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
In this year’s election, total votes were 361. The winners will take charge of the Film Director’s Association for the year 2019-2020 after the election.
A total of 42 candidates including four independent candidates contested for 19 posts this year. Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar and Badol Khondoker contested for the post of President in the election. Badiul Alam Khokon contested under Gulzar’s panel for the post of Secretary General while Bazlur Rashid Chowdhury contested under Badol’s panel.
Therefore, Safiuddin Safi also contested for that post as independently.
