Bangladesh will fight for nine out of 10 gold finals of the second ISSF Islamic Solidarity Archery Championships which will be decided today (Wednesday) at Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium.
The hosts are certain to win one gold medal after Ashim Kumar Das and Abul Kashem Mamun made it to the finals of the compound event for men’s which will be held today (Wednesday).
Aapart from Nasrin Akter’s failure, the Bangladeshi archers continued their domination on the third day.
Nasrin lost to Begunhan Unsal of Turkey 6-0 in recurve women’s semi-finals event which was the only event Bangladesh will not be fighting for gold.
Meanwhile, Bonna Akter of Bangladesh secured bronze medal in the compound women’s singles event beating Hoim Emily of Estonia 139-137 held on Tuesday at Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium.
In the compound mixed team event, Ramesh Bhattachan and Parsada Acharya of Nepal won bronze medal.
In the compound men’s singles event, Shkhan Waleed Hameed of Iraq won the bronze medal beating his Bangladeshi rival M Milon Mollah.
In the recurve men’s singles event, Oona Mart of Estonia won the bronze medal beating Tamimul Islam of Bangladesh by 6-4 sets.
In the recurve women’s singles, Tagaeva Zukhro of Tajikistan bagged the bronze medal beating Nasrin Akter of Bangladesh by 7-1 sets.
In the recurve mixed team event, Kursanaliev Ulukbeb and Sharbekova Asel of Tajikistan won the bronze medal beating Onna Mart and Parnat Reena of Estonia by 6-0 sets.
In the recurve men’s team event, Alotabi Fares Mater and Alvi Mansour Fahd of Saudi Arabia won the bronze medal defeating Kadhim Ali and Mahmood Ahmed of Iraq by 5-1 sets.
In the compound men’s team event, Ramesh Bhattachan and Hom Bahadur Thapa Magar of Nepal bagged bronze medals while Parsada Acharya, Rana Magar Monica and Rashmi Dariami of Nepal secured bronze medals in the women’s team event.
