Bangladesh will face Qatar in the match of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers at the Bangabandhu National Stadium today. The match kicks-off at 7.00pm.
Marking the upcoming football match, a press conference was held at the conference room in Bangladesh Football Federation House on Wednesday.
Head Coach of Bangladesh Football team Jamie Day and Head Coach of Qatar Football team spoke at the conference.
This is second match for Bangladesh for Qualifiers. Bangladesh lost to Afghanistan 1-0 at Tajikistan in their first match on September 10.
On the other hand, this is third match for Qatar for Qualifiers. Qatar thrashed Afghanistan by six goals to nil in their first match. Qatar settled for a goalless draw with India in their second match.
Before today’s match, Qatar and Bangladesh faced each other for the first time in an Asian Cup Qualifiers match on September 6 in 2006 in Doha, Qatar. Bangladesh tasted a 3-0 defeat to Qatar in that match.
Before that match, Bangladesh met Qatar in the Asian Cup Qualifiers in Chattogram on August 16 in August 16. Bangladesh conceded a 4-1 defeat to Qatar in that match.
Head Coach of Bangladesh Jamie Day said, ” There is a difference between Bangladesh and Qatar. Qatar are stronger than Bangladesh. But I hope that Bangladesh will give fight against their stronger opponent.”
Head Coach of Qatar Felix Sanchez said, ” Qatar have taken the upper hand, according to the FIFA ranking. But Qatar have to prove their strength in the ground. We want to go home with a good result. We want to win tomorrow’s match.”
