BSS, Incheon :
Bangladesh eve cricket team moved to the semifinals of the 17th Asian Games on Wednesday with a 81 runs victory over Nepal in the quarterfinal held on Wednesday at Yeonhui Cricket Ground at Incheon, South Korea.
Defeating Nepal in the fourth quarterfinal at the newly built stadium, Bangladesh eve team went one step forward to inscribe their names in the medals’ tally, as none of country’s athletes have managed the glory so far, on the sixth day into the games.
Asked to bat, Bangladesh managed to score 107 for 4 from their allotted 20 overs.
In reply, Nepal found the chase very stiff losing wickets in regular intervals in the face of tight bowling attacks by Bangladesh bowlers and finally dismissed at a paltry total of 26 runs in 15.3 overs.
Not much Nepal could do, they bowled and fielded much better than they batted but were outplayed in every department.
Today Bangladesh will meet Sri Lanka in their semifinal match.
Score: Bangladesh 107/4 in 20 overs: Ayesha Khatun 51. Nepal 26/10 in 15.3 overs: Salma Khatun 3/1, Rumana 3/4.
