Bangladesh national eve football team take on host Nepal in the first match of FIFA tier-1 two-match friendly series scheduled to be held today at Dashrath Stadium in Kathmandu.
The match kicks off at 5.15 pm (BST).
Prior to the first match, team’s coach Golam Robanni Choton said: “Girls have been playing together for many years ….. They have also played together in age based teams. So everyone has a very good relationship and ability to understand each other. I hope if the girls are able to give their best, then we’ll get a good result from the first match.”
Team’s captain Sabina Khatun said: “We have been working hard for the last few months. As a result of the hard work, we want to show something good against Nepal and we want to hold our position in the next AFC Cup (qualifying round) scheduled to be in Uzbekistan.”
All the players of the team are well and fit for the first match against Nepal.
The Bangladesh team will have their hour-long conditioning, gym and pool session tomorrow morning before the first match.
Both Bangladesh and Nepal are participating in the two-match series as part of their preparation for AFC Asian Women’s Cup qualifiers.
The second match of the series will be held on September 12 at the same venue.
