Torrential rain has forced to wash out the inaugural match of the ICRC 5-nation T20 Cricket Tournament between Bangladesh and England.
The match for cricketers with disabilities was scheduled to start at 11am at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur on Wednesday but the umpires called off the play after rain continued to play spoilsports until 1pm.
Defying the rain, huge number of students from different schools gathered in the big bowl to enjoy match. Bangladesh and England cricketers gave away autographs and took pictures with them.
Afghanistan will take on Pakistan at ground No. 3 of Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) before India play against England at ground No. 4 on Thursday.
The first game will start on 9:30am while the next is set to begin at 1:30pm.
Bangladesh will play their second match against Pakistan on Friday (Sept. 4).
Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina formally inaugurated the first ever competition of its kind as the chief guest.
